With the merger of our two specialist Australian smaller companies firms now complete, and with some evolution and enhancement to the Monash fund’s team and process, I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the many long-term supportive investors at Monash, and the many followers & friends of the firm.

I’ve been working with the Monash guys as part of their investment team on an informal basis since January, and have been glad to have had the opportunity to meet or speak with many of you already over this period. It’s been value-adding for the DMX | Monash team to engage with clients and prospects to learn more about how the Monash Fund fits in your portfolios, and to discuss the features & benefits of an investment alongside us at Monash. As we shuffle a little in terms of team composition, roles & responsibilities; and as we head into our periodic PDS update cycle whereby we’re reviewing and seeking to enhance the Fund’s mandate, it’s been value-adding for us to have your feedback. As we move forward, please feel welcome to contact me directly either by phone or email at any time to discuss our portfolios, stocks, markets in general, and anything related on your mind. michael@monashinvestors.com, DDI: 02 80697965.

My colleague at DMX, Steven McCarthy, and I each have more than 20 years of experience across various roles in funds management and corporate finance. You can read our brief bios, together with Simon & Shane’s, on the DMX | Monash Portfolio Manager Bio Page Here. We think of solid performance as a by-product of consistently executing a well-considered, sensible, value-conscious investment strategy over many years. To this end, we’re proud of the results we’ve generated for investors over the medium to long-term, all while delivering differentiated portfolio exposures that blend well with other assets our investors are exposed to.

We expect to soon announce modest enhancements as we position the Monash Fund to continue to benefit over the long-term from the ownership of a broad range of smaller, growing, and attractively valued companies. We’ve been really focused on what’s driven our strong returns over the past 10+ years (across each of DMX and Monash), and as we move into this new exciting chapter in the combined firms’ history, we want to re-double our focus into what’s really moved the needle over time. Specifically, the identification and long-term ownership of some great Australian success stories: smaller ASX-listed companies that have a significant growth runway ahead, and can enjoy valuation multiple re-rates as they continue to grow and attract broader investor interest.

A fund manager’s investment process – no matter how robust and effective – is only one part of the overall investment experience for clients. Not to be dismissed is the power of clear, honest & transparent, relatable, and engaging reporting. I believe each of DMX and Monash individually have provided valuable reporting & interesting content to clients over time, and I look forward to us building on this as we move forward. We welcome your constructive feedback on our reporting at any time. Don’t be shy to let us know what’s working well or what needs improvement, from your perspective!

Thank you for your trust, support, and interest, as we continue to integrate our two firms and position the business to be able to continue to deliver value for clients for many years to come. Once again, please feel welcome to contact me directly at any time.
